about

“Nature is infinitely patient, one thing lives after another has given way; the magnolia's blooms die just as the cherry's come to life.”
― Teju Cole

Naarm-based musician Lee Hannah captures a fluid landscape of 35° heat in summer solstice - their latest album and first sound collage. The record features a mix of raw field recordings (urban and regional), clicking grasshoppers, overheard conversations, wind, radio, and piano recorded while catsitting (love you Thelonius). The result is a continuous long form work of shimmering soundscapes and nostalgic occasions, capturing the essence of the summer solstice through texture, sound, fauna and movement.

Recorded on the lands of the Peramangk, Kaurna, and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people.

All sales donated to Launch Housing - a secular Melbourne-based community organisation that delivers homelessness services and life-changing housing supports to disadvantaged Victorians.
